The project explores the grief and coping process of loved ones through the lens of different cultures and causes of death. The research involves development of support interventions that promote coping in grieving individuals and assessing the impact of coping and grieving.

The research focuses on the following areas:

  1. Grief and coping from the perspectives of different family members and causes of death
  2. Support for the bereaved and interventions that promote coping
  3. Consequences and life changes following the death of a loved one
  4. Peer support and its effectiveness in the grieving process, as well as the societal significance of expert-by-experience training
  5. Pediatric palliative care
  6. Concepts of a good life and death across different cultures
  7. Motives and background factors in cases of familicide
  8. Providing support to parents undergoing termination of pregnancy for fetal anomaly (TOPFA)
  9. Evaluation of the effectiveness and functionality of a grief support application among parents who have experienced the traumatic death of a child (follow-up project: https://projects.tuni.fi/pcare/)
